Minnesota Twins at Texas Rangers

ARLINGTON, Texas (Interstat) — The Texas Rangers and Minnesota Twins, two teams concluding disappointing seasons, open a three-game series at Globe Life Field on Tuesday night.

The Rangers (79-77) were mathematically eliminated from postseason contention over the weekend. They limp into the series having lost four straight, including a three-game sweep by the Miami Marlins. Wyatt Langford provided a bright spot in Sunday’s 4-2 loss, hitting a home run.

The Twins (67-89) arrive after snapping a three-game losing streak with a 6-2 win over Cleveland on Sunday. Royce Lewis hit a pinch-hit, three-run homer in the victory, while shortstop Brooks Lee added a two-run shot.

When these teams met in June, the results were extreme. The Rangers won two of three in Minneapolis, outscoring the Twins 34-13. Texas posted 16-run outbursts in both of its victories, while Minnesota’s lone win was a 6-2 decision on June 11.

Both clubs are playing for pride in the final week of the regular season. According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Rangers are projected for a narrow 4-3 victory.

Following this series, the Twins travel to face the Philadelphia Phillies, while the Rangers head to Cleveland for their final three games.
