Miami Marlins at Colorado Rockies

DENVER (Interstat) — The Miami Marlins will look to build on a dramatic, extra-inning victory and secure a series win when they face the struggling Colorado Rockies on Wednesday night at Coors Field.

The Marlins (71-80) evened the series with a 6-5 win in 10 innings on Tuesday. Dane Myers delivered the go-ahead RBI single in the top of the 10th, capping a game where Miami’s pitching staff, led by starter Eury Pérez’s five scoreless innings, largely contained the Colorado offense.

They will face a Rockies team (41-110) that has lost 10 of its last 13 games and is on pace for one of the worst records in major league history. Colorado’s Mickey Moniak provided the bulk of the offense in the loss, going 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs.

Despite their sub-.500 record, the Marlins have been the more consistent team recently, going 7-8 over their last 15 games. The Rockies, conversely, have been mired in a deep slump, particularly at home where they have the worst record in the majors.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, Miami is projected to win with a final score of 5-2. Their ELO rating system gives the Marlins a 63.1 percent probability of victory. Betting markets align with this view, installing Miami as a -1.5 run favorite with an over/under set at 10.5 runs.

Following Wednesday’s contest, the Marlins continue their road trip with a three-game series against the Texas Rangers. The Rockies will remain at home to host the Los Angeles Angels for three games starting Friday.
