Atlanta Braves at Washington Nationals

WASHINGTON (Interstat) — The Atlanta Braves will look to complete a four-game series sweep of the Washington Nationals when the National League East rivals meet Wednesday evening at Nationals Park.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. EDT.

The Braves (69-83) have dominated the first three games of the set, outscoring the Nationals 22-6, including a 5-0 shutout on Tuesday. Chris Sale was stellar in that victory, tossing eight scoreless innings with nine strikeouts, while Matt Olson drove in three runs.

Despite their sub-.500 record, the Braves have won five of their last seven games. The Nationals (62-90), meanwhile, have dropped three straight and six of their last 10. Washington’s last win came on Sunday, a 4-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The season series has been lopsided in Atlanta’s favor. The Braves have won eight of the 12 meetings, including the last three by a combined score of 22-6. The teams will meet again for a three-game series in Atlanta starting Monday.

Projections for the finale are split. Interstat’s game simulator predicts a 6-4 win for the Nationals. However, its ELO rating system gives the Braves a 57.6% probability of victory. Betting markets have installed Atlanta as a -1.5 run favorite, with an over/under of 9 runs.

Following the series, both teams will travel for their next matchups. Atlanta opens a three-game interleague series at the Detroit Tigers on Friday. Washington heads to Citi Field to face the New York Mets for a three-game set starting the same day.
