Miami Marlins at Colorado Rockies

DENVER (Interstat) — The Miami Marlins, looking to rebound from a shutout loss, open a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field on Tuesday night.

The Marlins (70-80) enter the series after a 2-0 defeat to the Detroit Tigers on Sunday, despite a strong combined pitching effort from Adam Mazur, George Soriano and Christian Roa, who held the Tigers to just three hits. Miami had won two of three against Detroit prior to the loss.

They now face a Rockies team (41-109) that has struggled profoundly this season but managed to sweep a three-game set from the Marlins in Miami back in June, winning by scores of 6-4, 3-2 and 3-2.

Colorado arrives home after dropping three of four to the San Diego Padres, including a 9-6 loss on Sunday. Outfielder Mickey Moniak was a bright spot in that defeat, going 4 for 4 with two home runs and five RBIs.

The series pits two teams at the bottom of their respective divisions. The Marlins have shown recent signs of life, going 6-4 in their last 10 games, while the Rockies have lost seven of their last 10.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Marlins are projected to win with a final score of 5-2. Their ELO rating system gives Miami a 62.80 percent probability of victory. Betting markets have installed the Marlins as a -1.5 run favorite, with an over/under of 10.5 runs.

Following this series, the Marlins continue their road trip with a three-game set against the Texas Rangers. The Rockies will remain at home to host the Los Angeles Angels for three games starting Friday.
