Baltimore Orioles at Chicago White Sox
CHICAGO (Interstat) — The Baltimore Orioles will look to build on a strong series-opening victory when they face the Chicago White Sox again Tuesday night at Guaranteed Rate Field.
The Orioles (70-80) took the first game of the three-game set Monday, winning 4-1 behind a combined pitching effort from Kyle Bradish and Dietrich Enns. Bradish struck out nine over five innings, and Enns followed with four strikeouts in three hitless relief innings. Colton Cowser provided the offense with a three-run homer.
Baltimore has won four of its last five games but remains well out of playoff contention. The White Sox (57-94), owners of the American League’s worst record, have lost four of their last five.
Despite the teams’ records and projections favoring Baltimore, Chicago has been installed as a -1.5 run favorite by oddsmakers. The over/under for the game is set at 8 runs.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a 6-4 Orioles victory, and its ELO rating system gives Baltimore a 57.7% probability to win.
The Orioles have dominated the season series, winning all four meetings, including a three-game sweep in Baltimore from May 30 to June 1. In those games, the White Sox were held to two runs or fewer each time.
Following Wednesday’s series finale, the Orioles return home to face the New York Yankees for four games. The White Sox have an off-day Thursday before opening a three-game weekend series against the San Diego Padres.
