CHARLOTTE (Interstat) — Drew Thorpe struck out four over five one-hit innings as the Charlotte Knights beat the Buffalo Bisons 4-1 Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, at Truist Park in an International League (AAA) game. Charlotte outhit Buffalo 9-4. Thorpe, now 2-0, allowed no earned runs. Junior Perez went 2 for 4 with a two-run homer, and Tim Elko added three hits, including a home run and one RBI for Charlotte, which improved to 73-63. Josh Stephan took the loss for Buffalo, falling to 6-10 after giving up four earned runs on eight hits with five strikeouts in six innings. The Bisons, now 64-70, scored in the ninth when Yohendrick Piñango grounded out to shortstop Andy Weber, allowing Rhylan Thomas to score. Charlotte grounded into two double plays. The game took 2 hours, 17 minutes and drew 4,119 fans.
