CLEARWATER, S.C. (Interstat) — The Augusta Greenjackets outlasted the Hickory Crawdads 8-7 on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at SRP Park. Both teams collected 14 hits.

Hickory jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first inning on Angel Arredondo’s two-run double and Daniel Flames’ RBI single. Augusta answered in the bottom half when Alex Lodise hit a two-run homer. The Crawdads added single runs in the second and fifth, but Augusta surged ahead 5-3 in the fifth on Luis Guanipa’s RBI single.

The Greenjackets seized control in the sixth. Michael Martinez hit a two-run homer, and Conor Essenburg’s RBI single made it 8-5. Hickory’s Paulino Santana hit a two-run homer in the eighth to pull within one, but Daniel Brooks shut the door with two scoreless innings for his second save.
