Tampa Tarpons at Dunedin Blue Jays

DUNEDIN, Fla. (Interstat) — The Tampa Tarpons visit the Dunedin Blue Jays on Saturday evening at TD Ballpark, with the temperature expected to be 89 degrees under cloudy skies.

The Tarpons (38-34) enter the series finale after a 12-6 loss to Dunedin on Thursday, which snapped a three-game winning streak against the Blue Jays. Tampa won the previous two games in the series 9-3 and 3-1. Dunedin (33-38) has alternated wins and losses over its last four games.

Tampa right fielder Willy Montero has been a force at the plate in this series. Montero is 7 for 12 with two home runs and six RBIs over the last three games against Dunedin, including a 3-for-3 performance Thursday with a home run and four RBIs. He is batting .333 over his last 10 games.

Dunedin second baseman Dariel Ramon also has been productive against Tampa pitching. Ramon went 4 for 5 with two RBIs in the Blue Jays’ win Thursday, and is hitting .400 over his last four home games.

The Tarpons won three of four meetings in Tampa earlier this season from May 12-17, but Dunedin has taken two of four in this home series.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a 6-4 victory for the Blue Jays.

Both teams continue their seasons Sunday with a rematch at TD Ballpark.
