Clippers at Bisons

BUFFALO, N.Y. (Interstat) — The Columbus Clippers and Buffalo Bisons conclude their six-game series Sunday afternoon at Sahlen Field, with first pitch scheduled under rainy skies and temperatures near 46 degrees.

Columbus (13-11) enters the finale after a 12-6 victory Friday that evened the series at two games apiece. The Clippers have won two of the past three meetings against Buffalo, which sits at 12-12.

Left-hander Logan Allen (1-1, 5.40 ERA) is the probable starter for Columbus. He will face a Bisons lineup that has struggled against him in the past. Buffalo has not announced a starter.

Clippers second baseman Travis Bazzana enters the game as one of the hottest hitters in the series. Over the past four games against Buffalo, Bazzana is batting .417 with four RBIs and a home run. He went 2-for-3 with four RBIs in Friday’s win.

Bisons reliever Michael Plassmeyer has been effective out of the bullpen, posting a 0.00 ERA over his last three appearances covering 4 2/3 innings. He has not allowed a hit in his past two outings against Columbus.

The Clippers are looking to build momentum before returning home to face Toledo on Tuesday. Buffalo will travel to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre for a six-game set beginning Tuesday.

A simulator projects a 5-4 Columbus victory.
