Buffalo Bisons at Omaha Storm Chasers

OMAHA, Neb. (Interstat) — The Buffalo Bisons and Omaha Storm Chasers, locked in an early-season series deadlock, are set for a pivotal fifth game Saturday at Werner Park, though inclement weather threatens the contest.

First pitch is scheduled for the afternoon, with a forecast of 40-degree temperatures and rain in Papillion.

Both clubs enter with identical 2-3 records. The series is tied 2-2, with Omaha taking the last two games, including a 9-7 victory Thursday. Buffalo won the series opener 6-4 on Tuesday.

The Bisons will send right-hander Chad Dallas (0-0) to the mound for his first start of the season. He will face a Storm Chasers lineup featuring Drew Waters, whose three-run homer powered Omaha’s win Thursday.

Buffalo’s offense will look to Eloy Jiménez, who has been a bright spot in the series. The designated hitter is 3-for-10 with a home run and two RBIs over the first four games, including a 2-for-3 performance with a homer in Thursday’s loss.

Omaha’s bullpen, anchored by Andrew Pérez’s two scoreless innings Thursday, will aim to contain Jiménez and secure a series lead. Buffalo relievers Adam Macko and Joe Mantiply combined for three innings of one-run ball in the same game, providing a potential bridge if Dallas exits early.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the projection favors Buffalo in a narrow 5-4 decision.

Following Saturday’s game, the series concludes Sunday before both teams embark on new series Tuesday. Buffalo returns home to host Syracuse, while Omaha travels to face Iowa.
