Reno Aces at Albuquerque Isotopes

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (Interstat) — The surging Reno Aces look to continue their early-season momentum against the struggling Albuquerque Isotopes when the teams meet for an afternoon contest Thursday at Isotopes Park.

First pitch is scheduled for 12:05 p.m. MDT under cloudy skies with temperatures near 59 degrees. The game is the third of a four-game series.

Reno (2-1) has won two straight, including an 8-1 victory over Albuquerque on Tuesday. The Isotopes (0-3) are still seeking their first win of the 2026 campaign after dropping their opening series at Oklahoma City before returning home.

A key matchup features pitchers who dueled just three days ago. Reno’s Thomas Hatch, a player to watch, earned the win Tuesday after allowing one earned run on two hits over four innings with four strikeouts. Albuquerque will counter with right-hander Gabriel Hughes, who took the loss in that same game despite a strong outing. Hughes surrendered two earned runs on three hits across five innings while striking out eight.

The Aces’ offense was powered by Ryan Waldschmidt, who drove in three runs in Tuesday’s win. The Isotopes’ bullpen, including Parker Mushinski and Seth Halvorsen, provided scoreless relief in the loss but the offense mustered only one run.

These teams played to a scoreless tie in a game Wednesday, April 1, that was suspended due to inclement weather. It will be completed at a later date.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the projection for Thursday favors Reno, 8-4.

Following Thursday’s game, the series concludes Friday before both clubs embark on new series next week. Reno begins a homestand against Salt Lake on Tuesday, while Albuquerque hits the road for a six-game set at El Paso.
