Reno Aces at Albuquerque Isotopes

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (Interstat) — The Reno Aces and Albuquerque Isotopes will look to gain an early edge in their Pacific Coast League series when they meet Wednesday at Isotopes Park.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. MDT under cloudy skies with temperatures around 70 degrees.

The Aces (1-1) and Isotopes (0-2) opened their four-game set with a 1-1 tie in Tuesday’s exhibition. The clubs will play a full slate of games through Sunday.

Reno will send left-hander Mitch Bratt to the mound. Bratt owns a 0-0 record this season. He will be opposed by Albuquerque left-hander Sean Sullivan, who also is 0-0.

A key hitter to watch for Reno is first baseman Luken Baker. He is coming off a strong performance Sunday, going 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs in a 9-4 loss to Tacoma. For the Isotopes, designated hitter Conner Capel has started the season hot, collecting three hits and two RBIs over the first two games.

Both teams are looking to build momentum after opening weekend splits. Reno defeated Tacoma 8-4 on Saturday before Sunday’s loss. Albuquerque dropped both games of its series at Oklahoma City, falling 13-6 on Saturday and 13-4 on Sunday.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the Aces are projected to win 8-3.

Following this series, Reno returns home to face the Salt Lake Bees for a six-game set starting April 7. Albuquerque will hit the road for a six-game series against the El Paso Chihuahuas beginning the same day.
