Worcester Red Sox at Saint Paul Saints
WORCESTER, Mass. (Interstat) — The Worcester Red Sox look to build on a decisive victory and even their series with the Saint Paul Saints when the teams meet Wednesday at CHS Field.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:37 p.m. CDT under cloudy skies with a game-time temperature near 44 degrees.
The Red Sox (1-1) evened their season record with an 8-0 road win over the Saints on Tuesday, responding after a 10-8 loss to Syracuse on Sunday. Worcester will send right-hander Andrew Bash (0-0, 0.00 ERA) to the mound for his first start of 2026.
He’ll face a Saints club (2-0) that saw its perfect start snapped but remains confident after taking two from Indianapolis to open the year. Saint Paul’s bullpen has been a strength early, a unit highlighted by John Klein. In Sunday’s 4-1 win at Indianapolis, Klein fired 2 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out four.
Worcester will counter with a key reliever of its own in Zack Kelly, who has opened with two scoreless innings of work. In Sunday’s loss, Kelly provided two hitless frames with one strikeout.
The Red Sox offense, which erupted for eight runs Tuesday, saw contributions up and down the lineup in the opening series. Mikey Romero drove in three runs in Sunday’s contest.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, Wednesday’s matchup projects as a tight one, with a predicted final score of Saints 6, Red Sox 5.
Following Wednesday’s game, the two teams will conclude their series with games on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Saint Paul. Worcester then returns home to host Columbus for a six-game set beginning April 7, while the Saints embark on a six-game road trip to Toledo starting the same day.
