Tacoma Rainiers at Reno Aces

RENO, Nev. (Interstat) — The Tacoma Rainiers and Reno Aces will conclude their opening series Sunday evening at Greater Nevada Field, with both clubs seeking their first win of the 2026 season.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. PDT under cloudy skies with a game-time temperature near 74 degrees.

The Rainiers (0-0) will send right-hander Dane Dunning to the mound, while the Aces (0-0) counter with left-hander Yu-Min Lin. Both pitchers’ season records are yet to be established.

Reno took the first game of the series Saturday, defeating Tacoma 8-3. The Aces’ most recent result prior to this series was a 3-2, 10-inning victory at Albuquerque on Sept. 21, 2025. Tacoma’s last game before opening 2026 was a 7-3 loss at Las Vegas on Sept. 24, 2025.

Projections for the series finale present a split verdict. Interstat’s game simulator predicts a narrow 6-5 victory for the Aces. However, the same outlet’s ELO rating system gives Tacoma a slight edge, projecting a 53.60% probability of a Rainiers win.

Following Sunday’s contest, both teams embark on extended series to continue the early season. The Rainiers will head home to open a six-game set against the El Paso Chihuahuas beginning Tuesday. The Aces hit the road for a six-game series against the Albuquerque Isotopes, also starting Tuesday.

Greater Nevada Field is located at 250 Evans Ave. in Reno.
