Syracuse Mets at Lehigh Valley IronPigs
ALLENTOWN, Pa. (Interstat) — The Syracuse Mets and Lehigh Valley IronPigs continue their pivotal International League series at Coca-Cola Park on Friday night, with the playoff-bound IronPigs looking to build on their commanding division lead.
Lehigh Valley (86-59) enters the contest with the league’s best record and fresh off an 8-2 rout of the Mets on Thursday. Christian Arroyo powered that victory, going 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs, while starter Griff McGarry dominated with eight strikeouts over five innings of one-run ball.
The IronPigs have taken two of the first three games in this four-game set, though the series has been tightly contested. Syracuse (75-72) won the previous two meetings by identical 4-3 scores on Tuesday and Wednesday, demonstrating the competitive nature of the matchup this season.
Syracuse will aim to rebound from Thursday’s loss and even the series. Jared Young provided one of the few highlights, hitting a solo home run. Relievers Douglas Orellana and Dylan Ross combined for 2 1/3 scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
The season series between the two clubs has been remarkably even. Of their 15 meetings so far in 2025, eight have been decided by two runs or fewer, suggesting another close contest is likely Friday.
Interstat’s game simulator projects a high-scoring affair, predicting a 7-6 victory for the home team. The analytics firm’s ELO rating system gives Lehigh Valley a 57.80 percent probability to win.
Following Friday’s game, the two teams will meet for the final two games of the regular season on Saturday and Sunday in Allentown.
