Baltimore City vs Harcum
Harcum Bears Host Baltimore City Panthers in Region 20 Quarterfinal
BRYN MAWR, Pa. (Interstat) — The Harcum Bears, riding a winning record and recent dominance over their opponent, will host the winless Baltimore City Panthers in a Region 20 men’s junior college basketball tournament quarterfinal on Friday, March 6, 2026.
The Bears (10-6) enter the postseason as heavy favorites, having defeated the Panthers (0-10) twice this season by an average margin of 24 points. The most recent meeting was a 75-56 victory at Baltimore City on Feb. 26.
Harcum will lean on forward Souleymane Sylla, who recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds in a narrow road loss to Allegany (Md.) on Feb. 28. Sylla was also a key contributor in the win over Baltimore City last week, posting 12 points and seven rebounds in 26 minutes. Guard Samuel Nuga, who scored 25 points in the Allegany game, provides additional offensive firepower.
Baltimore City seeks a stunning reversal of fortune to salvage its season. The Panthers have lost 10 consecutive games, with their last single-digit defeat occurring on Feb. 4. Forward Anthony Baker is a player to watch for the Panthers. He led the team with 10 points and eight rebounds in the Feb. 26 loss to Harcum. His consistency will be crucial for an offense that has struggled to score.
The Bears have shown resilience on their home court this season, including a decisive 88-59 victory over Baltimore City on Dec. 6, 2025. Harcum’s balance, featuring Sylla inside and scorers like Nuga and Zion Moore on the perimeter, contrasts with a Panthers squad searching for its first victory.
Friday’s winner will advance to the Region 20 semifinals. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at Harcum College Gymnasium.
