Marshalltown vs Southeastern

WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (Interstat) — The Southeastern Community College Blackhawks enter the Region 11 Tournament first round as heavy favorites when they host the Marshalltown Community College Tigers on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

The Blackhawks (14-10) have dominated the season series, winning both meetings by an average of 26.5 points. Their most recent victory was a 69-33 rout at Marshalltown just four days prior to this tournament matchup. Southeastern’s balanced attack is led by guard Jaleel Donley, who scored 13 points with seven rebounds in Saturday’s win. Donley has been a consistent performer, scoring in double figures in six consecutive games.

Marshalltown (1-7) faces a steep challenge, seeking to reverse a season defined by offensive struggles. The Tigers have lost seven straight, averaging just 58 points per game during the skid. A bright spot has been forward Tom Guma, who logged a 15-point, eight-rebound effort in a loss to Indian Hills on Feb. 24. However, Guma was limited to just two points in the rematch with Southeastern.

The Tigers’ lone win came on Dec. 6, 2025, against Lake Region State. Since then, they have failed to crack 60 points in four of their last five contests. Southeastern, meanwhile, has shown resilience in close games, with four of its last six contests decided by five points or fewer.

Wednesday’s winner advances in the single-elimination Region 11 Tournament. The game tips off at 7 p.m. at SCC’s gymnasium.
