Georgia Highlands vs Albany Tech

ALBANY, Ga. (Interstat) — A quick rematch with playoff implications is set for Monday night as the Albany Tech Titans host the Georgia Highlands Chargers in a men’s junior college basketball clash.

The teams just met on Saturday, with visiting Georgia Highlands (7-10) edging Albany Tech (8-11) 86-83. The Chargers will look to complete a regular-season sweep, while the Titans seek immediate revenge on their home court.

Georgia Highlands is led by guard Braylen Smith, who torched the Titans for 24 points, five rebounds and six assists in Saturday’s win. His backcourt leadership will be critical as the Chargers aim for consecutive victories for the first time since early February. Forwards Joshua Bryant (18 points, nine rebounds) and Justen Goudelock (21 points) provided vital support in the first meeting.

Albany Tech counters with its own dynamic guard in Nicholas Durham, who posted 18 points, five rebounds and five assists in the narrow loss. He, along with scorers Tyler Husband (18 points) and Miles George (19 points), will look to exploit a Georgia Highlands defense that has allowed an average of 80.2 points per game this season.

Both teams have struggled for consistency. The Chargers’ win on Saturday snapped a two-game skid, while the Titans have lost four of their last six. With nearly identical records, the game carries weight for regional standing as the regular season enters its final weeks.

The matchup hinges on guard play and which team can control the tempo. If Smith and Durham cancel each other out, secondary scorers like Georgia Highlands’ Bryant and Albany Tech’s George could be the difference-makers.

Monday’s tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Albany Tech gymnasium.
