CHATTANOOGA STATE 83, VOLUNTEER STATE 74

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Interstat) — The Chattanooga State Tigers defeated the Volunteer State Pioneers 83-74 in a men’s junior college basketball game Monday night.

Chattanooga State built a narrow 41-37 lead by halftime and maintained its advantage through the second half to secure the road victory. The win improves the Tigers’ season record to 11-9, while Volunteer State falls to 6-15.

The game’s projected outcome was notably closer than the final result, with statistical models forecasting a toss-up. Key performances for the Pioneers were not enough to overcome the Tigers’ consistent scoring across both quarters. Chattanooga State swept the season series, having also won the previous meeting in November.
