Colorado Northwestern vs Snow
Preview: Colorado Northwestern at Snow in Men’s Junior College Basketball
EPHRAIM, Utah (Interstat) — The Snow College Badgers, boasting one of the nation’s premier junior college records at 25-1, will look to continue their dominant season when they host the struggling Colorado Northwestern Spartans (3-21) in a men’s basketball game on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026.
The matchup presents a stark contrast in fortunes. Snow, whose only loss this season came on Jan. 15, has been a powerhouse, averaging 90.5 points per game in its last four contests. The Badgers handed the Spartans a 109-60 defeat in their most recent meeting on Feb. 7 in Rangely, Colorado. In that game, Snow’s Max Toombs filled the stat sheet with 15 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
Toombs, a key player for the Badgers, enters Saturday’s contest averaging 12.8 points over his last five games. He scored 19 points in just 21 minutes in Snow’s most recent victory, an 84-64 win over Utah State Eastern on Feb. 12.
Colorado Northwestern, mired in a 10-game losing streak, will lean heavily on guard Jordan Jones. Despite the team’s struggles, Jones has been a consistent offensive force, scoring 20 or more points in four of his last six games. He is averaging 18.2 points per game over that stretch, including a 20-point, five-rebound, five-assist performance in a 70-80 loss to North Idaho on Feb. 14.
The Spartans’ season has been defined by offensive challenges, as they have failed to reach 70 points in seven of their last 10 games. Defensively, they have allowed an average of 102.5 points in their two prior meetings with Snow this season.
For the Badgers, the game serves as a final tune-up before a challenging road trip to close the regular season, facing North Idaho on Feb. 26 and Southern Idaho on Feb. 28. Colorado Northwestern’s next game is at Salt Lake on Feb. 25.
Tipoff is scheduled for Saturday at the Horne Activity Center. Snow will be a heavy favorite, but the Spartans hope Jones can provide enough firepower to keep the game competitive against the region’s top team.
