Southern Idaho vs Snow

Top-Ranked Junior College Powers Collide as Snow Hosts Southern Idaho

EPHRAIM, Utah (Interstat) — A men’s junior college basketball showdown with national implications is set for Saturday when the Southern Idaho Eagles visit the Snow College Badgers.

Both teams enter with just one loss this season. Southern Idaho is 17-1, while Snow boasts a 20-1 record. The matchup is a swift rematch of a Jan. 15 thriller, where the Eagles held serve at home with an 84-76 victory, handing the Badgers their sole defeat.

That result adds a layer of revenge to a game already dripping with championship pedigree. The winner will seize sole possession of first place in the Scenic West Athletic Conference and a strong claim to the top national ranking.

Southern Idaho is led by guard Ace Reiser, who torched Snow for 24 points, three rebounds and three assists in the first meeting. Reiser is averaging 16.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game over his last seven contests, demonstrating consistent all-around play.

Snow will counter with guard McCaden Adams, who was a bright spot in the previous loss with a team-high 21 points and five rebounds. Adams has been a steady force, scoring in double figures in six consecutive games.

The Eagles have been dominant in conference play, with their closest SWAC test being the eight-point win over Snow. Their offense is humming, averaging 88.4 points per game during their current seven-game win streak.

The Badgers, whose average margin of victory is over 22 points, have not lost at home this season. They will rely on their depth and a raucous home crowd to avenge the earlier defeat. Sean Felts (10 points, 8 rebounds last game) and Sam Sivulich (15 points) provide key support alongside Adams.

Saturday’s contest is the first of two regular-season meetings between the powers, with the return game scheduled for Feb. 28 in Twin Falls, Idaho. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. MST at the Horne Activity Center.
