Undefeated Snow Badgers Face Southern Idaho Eagles in Top Junior College Clash

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (Interstat) — A marquee men’s junior college basketball matchup is set for Thursday when the undefeated and visiting Snow College Badgers face the Southern Idaho Golden Eagles.

The Badgers (18-0), one of the nation’s last unbeaten teams, will be tested on the road against a Southern Idaho squad (13-1) whose only loss came in early December. The Eagles have since reeled off nine consecutive victories.

Snow arrives following a hard-fought 81-74 home win over Utah State Eastern on Jan. 8, where Aaron Bliss posted a near double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds. Bliss, a key contributor, has been consistent, averaging 5.2 points and 6.4 rebounds over his last five games.

Southern Idaho is riding high after an 86-78 road win at Salt Lake on Jan. 10. Guard Ace Reiser led that effort with 13 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Reiser has been a steadying force, averaging 10.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists over the Eagles’ last three contests.

The Badgers’ perfect record includes several dominant performances, most recently a 90-69 victory over Salt Lake on Jan. 6. Their offense has been potent, scoring 90 or more points in seven games this season.

Southern Idaho’s defense has been its hallmark during its win streak, holding opponents to an average of 59.2 points over its last five games. The Eagles’ lone blemish was a 73-66 home loss to Odessa on Dec. 6.

This contest is the first of two regular-season meetings between the Scenic West Athletic Conference rivals. They will meet again in Ephraim, Utah, on Jan. 31.

Following this game, Snow will travel to face North Idaho on Saturday. Southern Idaho will host Utah State Eastern on Saturday.
