EL CAJON, Calif. (Interstat) — Two men’s junior college basketball teams seeking their first win of the young season will meet Saturday when the Lemoore Golden Eagles face the Imperial Valley Arabs in the Cuyamaca Tournament.

Both teams enter the contest on the heels of losses Friday. Lemoore (0-1) fell 74-69 to tournament host Cuyamaca. The Golden Eagles were led by Mykayle McCoy, who scored 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Na’Jae Stevenson added nine points and seven rebounds.

Imperial Valley (0-3) is coming off a 103-56 road loss to Santa Ana. The Arabs have struggled defensively in their early schedule, having also lost to Palo Verde 91-44 and to Copper Mountain 96-69.

The matchup presents a critical opportunity for either team to build momentum. Lemoore will look to McCoy to continue his high-scoring output, while Imperial Valley aims to tighten its defense to secure a victory on a neutral court.

Following this game, Lemoore travels to face West Valley on Nov. 12. Imperial Valley’s next contest is at El Camino on Nov. 12.
