Southern Nevada vs Colorado Northwestern
PRICE, Utah (Interstat) — The Southern Nevada Coyotes and Colorado Northwestern Spartans will open their men’s junior college basketball seasons against each other Friday at the CSI Tournament.
Both teams enter the contest with 0-0 records. The game is the first for the Coyotes since the 2024 season. The Spartans last took the court on Feb. 29, 2024, falling 95-71 to Utah State Eastern.
This matchup kicks off a busy start to the season for both programs. They are scheduled to meet again the following day, Saturday, Nov. 1, in Rangely, Colorado, and will play a third time on Nov. 22.
The back-to-back games will provide an early test for two teams looking to establish their identities. Southern Nevada’s schedule remains heavy on road games, with seven of its next 10 contests away from home following this neutral-site opener.
Colorado Northwestern will play its first five games of the season either at home or on a neutral court before embarking on a road trip to Western Wyoming on Nov. 14.
Friday’s winner will gain early momentum in what promises to be a season-long series between the two junior college programs.
