Riverside Outlasts Santiago Canyon in High-Scoring Junior College Clash
RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Interstat) — The Riverside Tigers edged the Santiago Canyon Hawks 94-90 in a California Community College men’s basketball game Friday.
Riverside built a 50-42 lead after a fast-paced first quarter and held off a persistent Hawks squad in the second. Kollen Murphy led the Tigers with 26 points. Jacob De Armas scored 25 points for Santiago Canyon, and Matt Mendias added 19.
Both teams shot identically from the floor, but Riverside’s 28-for-33 performance from the free-throw line proved decisive. The Tigers improved to 16-11, while the Hawks fell to 18-8.
