Compton vs Los Angeles Harbor

Preview: Compton Tartars at Los Angeles Harbor Seahawks

WILMINGTON, Calif. (Interstat) — Two men’s junior college basketball teams with identical ambitions and nearly identical records will meet Wednesday when the Compton Tartars visit the Los Angeles Harbor Seahawks.

The California Community College Athletic Association matchup, set for Feb. 18, 2026, features a pair of teams seeking to break free from the middle of the conference standings. Compton enters at 11-15 overall, while Los Angeles Harbor sits at 11-14.

The contest is a quick rematch of a Jan. 30 thriller, where the host Tartars edged the Seahawks 79-76. Compton forward Keishawn Ross Jr. was pivotal in that victory, contributing 11 points and six rebounds in 25 minutes. Ross Jr. has been a consistent force for Compton, coming off a 12-point, 12-rebound double-double in a loss to Cerritos on Feb. 11 and a 17-point, nine-rebound effort in a win over Long Beach on Jan. 28.

Los Angeles Harbor will look to avenge the earlier loss on its home floor. Guard Nate Guevara aims to bounce back after being held to five points in the first meeting. Guevara’s season highlight was an 11-point, eight-assist performance in a win over Long Beach on Jan. 21, but he has been held to single-digit scoring in three of his last four outings.

Both teams are looking to regain momentum after difficult recent results. Compton was routed 100-58 at Cerritos on Feb. 11 but responded with an 86-76 road win at Long Beach on Feb. 13. The Seahawks have dropped three straight, including a 75-69 home loss to Los Angeles Southwest on Feb. 11 and an 85-61 defeat at Cerritos on Feb. 13.

With the conference tournament picture solidifying, Wednesday’s game carries significant weight for postseason positioning. The Seahawks will need to contain Ross Jr. and find more consistent offense to split the season series, while the Tartars aim to build on their recent road success at Long Beach and complete a regular-season sweep.

Following this game, Compton will host Los Angeles Southwest on Friday, Feb. 20. Los Angeles Harbor will begin a home-and-home series with El Camino, also on Feb. 20.
