Fresno City vs Reedley
REEDLEY, Calif. (Interstat) — A Central Valley men’s junior college basketball rivalry will be renewed Tuesday night when the Reedley Tigers host the Fresno City Rams.
The Tigers (13-13) enter the contest at .500, seeking to solidify their position in the conference standings. The Rams (8-18) are looking to snap a three-game skid and avenge a narrow home loss to Reedley earlier this season.
In their first meeting on Jan. 24, Reedley edged Fresno City 70-68 in a tightly contested game. That result is part of a challenging stretch for the Rams, who have lost eight of their last ten games. Their most recent outing was a 69-65 road loss at Lemoore on Saturday.
Reedley arrives with more momentum, having won two of its last three, including a 78-75 victory at Coalinga on Saturday. The Tigers have shown resilience, with their last five games all decided by 10 points or fewer.
A key player to watch for Reedley is CJ Kornegay Jr., who was instrumental in the first matchup. In the Jan. 24 win at Fresno City, Kornegay Jr. recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. He is coming off a 15-point, 6-rebound performance in a win at Porterville last Wednesday.
For Fresno City, guard Rylan Ortiz will be a focal point. Ortiz contributed 12 minutes, 4 points and 3 rebounds in a road win at Porterville on Jan. 28, but saw limited action in the Rams’ most recent home game.
Despite the disparity in records, a competitive game is anticipated. Interstat’s game simulator projects a dead-even final score of 100-100, suggesting a potential for another classic, high-scoring affair between the two programs.
Following this matchup, Reedley will prepare to host Merced on Friday, while Fresno City returns home to face Porterville the same night.
Tip-off is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, at Reedley College.
