Imperial Valley vs San Diego Miramar

Preview: Imperial Valley Arabs at San Diego Miramar Jets

SAN DIEGO (Interstat) — The San Diego Miramar Jets will look to solidify their position at .500 when they host the winless Imperial Valley Arabs in a California Community College men’s basketball matchup Friday night.

The game presents a stark contrast in fortunes. The Jets (11-11) enter on the heels of a dramatic 80-79 overtime road victory at Palomar on Feb. 6. The Arabs (0-23) are seeking their first win of the 2025-26 season after a 106-52 loss at San Diego Mesa on that same date.

San Diego Miramar is led by standout guard Ah-Zion Applewhaite, who is coming off a phenomenal performance. He logged 43 minutes and scored 36 points with eight rebounds in the overtime win against Palomar. In his previous outing, a loss to Grossmont, he added 17 points and seven rebounds. His scoring prowess will be a primary focus for the Jets’ offense.

Imperial Valley’s bright spot has been Chrishawn Hollis. He scored 20 points with nine rebounds in 31 minutes during a Feb. 4 loss at San Diego City. The Arabs will need a similar, if not greater, effort from Hollis to challenge the Jets.

The teams met just last month, on Jan. 16 in Imperial Valley, with Miramar securing a 93-73 victory. The Arabs have struggled defensively, allowing an average of 92.5 points per game across their last four contests, all losses by 20 or more points.

For Miramar, consistency is key as they navigate the second half of conference play. A home game against a struggling opponent offers a chance to build momentum before hosting MiraCosta on Feb. 20.

Imperial Valley, meanwhile, continues its search for any positive momentum. Their next opportunity after Friday will be at home against Cuyamaca on Feb. 18.

Tip-off is set for Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, at Miramar College.
