Reedley vs Porterville
Reedley, Porterville Set for Central Valley Rematch
PORTERVILLE, Calif. (Interstat) — The Reedley Tigers and Porterville Pirates will meet for the second time this season in a California Community College men’s basketball matchup Wednesday night.
The game is scheduled for Feb. 11, 2026, at Porterville College.
Reedley (11-13) enters looking to avenge a 73-69 home loss to Porterville on Jan. 17. The Tigers have lost three straight games since a Jan. 24 road win over Fresno City, including a 76-65 defeat to Columbia on Feb. 7.
Porterville (6-18) snapped a five-game skid with a 69-67 overtime victory against Coalinga on Feb. 7. The Pirates’ win earlier this season over Reedley stands as one of their six victories this campaign.
A key matchup will feature two of the region’s top performers. Reedley is led by guard Nassef Lubowa, who scored 22 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished five assists in the first meeting against Porterville. Lubowa is averaging 14.4 points over his last seven games.
He will be countered by Porterville’s dominant forward, Jermarcus Brown, who is coming off a historic performance. In the win over Coalinga, Brown played 41 minutes and recorded 24 points and 22 rebounds. He averages a double-double and logged 40 minutes in each of his last three contests.
For Reedley, backcourt support for Lubowa comes from Aaron Williams (13 points vs. Columbia) and Kevin Chambers, who leads the team in assists. Porterville relies on the backcourt duo of Jhabie Casabay and Quentin Thomas, who combined for 26 points and eight assists in the recent overtime win.
Despite Porterville’s inferior overall record, the Pirates have proven capable, with two of their six wins coming against Reedley and Coalinga. The Tigers will aim to leverage their experience from the narrow Jan. 17 loss and break their current losing streak.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, the contest is projected to be a high-scoring affair, ending in a 100-100 tie.
Following this game, Reedley travels to face Coalinga on Feb. 14, while Porterville hosts Columbia on the same date.
