REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (Interstat) — The De Anza Mountain Lions avenged an earlier overtime loss with an 87-66 rout of the Canada Colts in a California community college men’s basketball game Friday night.

De Anza seized control with a dominant second quarter, outscoring Canada 48-19 after the teams combined for 86 first-quarter points. The victory improved the Mountain Lions to 10-14 this season, while the Colts fell to 9-15. The teams split their two-game season series, with De Anza having won 90-89 in overtime on Jan. 14. The outcome defied a pregame statistical projection that heavily favored Canada to win.
