San Jose vs West Valley

SAN JOSE, Calif. (Interstat) — A key California community college men’s basketball matchup is set for Wednesday when the San Jose Jaguars visit the West Valley Vikings in a battle of top-tier teams.

The Jaguars (18-5) enter with the superior overall record and confidence from a dominant 103-43 victory over Gavilan in their last outing. They also own a head-to-head advantage, having defeated West Valley 81-68 at home on Jan. 9. San Jose has won seven consecutive games since that contest, last losing on Dec. 20.

West Valley (16-6), however, has been formidable at home and is riding a two-game win streak, including a 77-62 road victory at Foothill on Jan. 30. The Vikings will seek to avenge their earlier loss to San Jose and protect their home court.

A player to watch for San Jose is Jeremiah Butler, who is coming off a 19-point performance in 20 minutes during a win at Hartnell on Jan. 28. For West Valley, guard CJ Willenborg poses a significant scoring threat. He erupted for 24 points in just one minute of play in a Jan. 28 rout of Gavilan, showcasing explosive potential.

Both teams feature potent offenses, with San Jose averaging a high margin of victory during its streak and West Valley posting several lopsided wins, including a 102-35 triumph over Hartnell in January.

The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tipoff on Feb. 4, 2026, at West Valley College. The outcome will have implications for conference standings as the season enters its final weeks.

San Jose’s next game is at Foothill on Feb. 6. West Valley’s next home contest is against East Los Angeles on Feb. 9.
