Cuesta vs Allan Hancock
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (Interstat) — The Allan Hancock College Bulldogs will look to sweep the season series when they host the Cuesta College Cougars in a California community college men’s basketball game Wednesday.
The matchup at the Coaches vs. Cancer event pits a Bulldogs squad (16-7) in the thick of the conference race against a Cougars team (8-14) seeking momentum. Allan Hancock won the first meeting 69-54 on Jan. 10.
Allan Hancock enters on a high note after a 78-71 road win at Oxnard on Jan. 31. Forward Arlind Konjuhi was dominant in that victory, scoring 27 points and grabbing nine rebounds. His recent form, including a 27-point outing, makes him a focal point for the Bulldogs’ offense.
Cuesta has shown resilience, winning two of its last three games, including a 78-66 victory over Santa Barbara on Jan. 28. The Cougars are led by guard Ryan McNamee, who is coming off a 15-point, six-rebound performance in that win. McNamee has been a consistent scorer, averaging 17.5 points over his last four games, a significant jump from the four points he managed in the first loss to Hancock.
The Bulldogs’ defense, which held Cuesta to 54 points last month, will aim to contain McNamee and force other Cougars to beat them. Allan Hancock’s interior presence, bolstered by Noah Morris’ 14-point, 14-rebound double-double against Oxnard, could prove decisive.
For Cuesta, improving offensive efficiency is paramount after shooting struggles doomed them in the January contest. Finding secondary scoring behind McNamee, potentially from Jakai Tutler or Corbin Rossi, will be critical against a disciplined Hancock defense.
Tip-off is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026.
