Porterville vs Lemoore
LEMOORE, Calif. (Interstat) — The Lemoore Golden Eagles will look to complete a regular-season sweep and continue their push above .500 when they host the struggling Porterville Pirates in a California Community College men’s basketball matchup Wednesday night.
Lemoore (12-10) enters with momentum, having won three of its last four games, including a dominant 81-57 victory over Reedley on Saturday. The Golden Eagles previously handled Porterville (5-17) with ease, winning 84-62 on the road on Jan. 10.
The Golden Eagles are anchored by forward Na’Jae Stevenson, who has been a consistent double-double threat. In the first meeting against Porterville, Stevenson posted 18 points and 11 rebounds. He is coming off a powerful 18-point, 16-rebound performance in a win over Coalinga on Jan. 28.
Porterville, mired in a five-game losing streak, will lean on guard Jermarcus Brown. Brown scored 20 points in the loss to Lemoore last month and is coming off a near-triple-double effort of 11 points, eight rebounds and six assists in a close loss to Fresno City on Jan. 28. The Pirates have struggled offensively, scoring 47 points or fewer in two of their last three contests.
The Pirates’ last win came on Jan. 17 at Reedley. Since then, they have lost by an average margin of 21.2 points. Lemoore has shown more consistency, particularly on defense, holding opponents to 51 points in two of its recent wins.
A victory would solidify Lemoore’s position in the conference standings ahead of a tough road game at Sequoias on Saturday. Porterville seeks to halt its skid before returning home to face Coalinga on Feb. 7.
Tip-off is set for Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026, at Lemoore College.
