Napa Valley vs Los Medanos

Preview: Los Medanos Hosts Napa Valley in Key California JUCO Matchup

PITTSBURG, Calif. (Interstat) — Two men’s junior college basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Friday when the Los Medanos Mustangs host the Napa Valley Storm in a California Community College Athletic Association matchup.

The game is scheduled for Jan. 30, 2026.

Los Medanos (8-12) holds a narrow edge in the overall season record over Napa Valley (7-13). The Mustangs will also carry the confidence of a decisive 102-76 victory when these teams last met on Jan. 2 in Napa.

A player to watch for the home team is sophomore guard Jeremiah Collins, who is coming off a dominant stretch. In his last three games, Collins averaged 21 points, 9.7 rebounds and 5.7 assists, including a triple-double of 23 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists in a win over Mendocino on Jan. 14.

Both teams are looking to rebound from recent losses. Los Medanos fell 102-92 to Alameda last Friday. Napa Valley dropped its last outing 88-76 at Contra Costa on Jan. 21. The Storm has lost three of its last four games.

Despite Los Medanos’ lopsided win in the earlier season meeting, a Interstat game simulator projects a tightly contested rematch, forecasting a 100-100 draw.

Napa Valley will aim for better defensive execution after allowing 102 points to the Mustangs’ offense in January. The Storm’s last win came on Jan. 10, an 84-59 victory over Solano.

For Los Medanos, consistency will be key. The Mustangs have alternated wins and losses over their past six games.

Following this contest, Los Medanos will travel to face Marin on Feb. 4. Napa Valley’s next game is at home against Merritt on Feb. 4.

Tip-off is set for Friday night at Los Medanos College.
