SANTA MARIA, Calif. (Interstat) — Snookey Wigington scored 33 points as the Ventura Pirates edged the Allan Hancock Bulldogs 85-81 in overtime Saturday in a men’s junior college basketball game.

The Pirates, who improved to 18-3, survived a 40-point first quarter from the Bulldogs and a 34-point performance from Allan Hancock’s Arlind Konjuhi. Ventura led 69-67 at halftime but was outscored 12-8 in the third quarter as the Bulldogs rallied to force overtime.

Jerimiyah Smith added 22 points and 12 rebounds for Ventura. Noah Morris had 17 rebounds for Allan Hancock, which fell to 15-7. Ventura secured the win despite being outrebounded 48-35, capitalizing on 21 Bulldogs turnovers.
