FULLERTON, Calif. (Interstat) — Bishop Brooks scored 23 points to lead the Fullerton Hornets to a 69-52 men’s junior college basketball victory over the Cypress Chargers on Friday night.

Fullerton built a commanding 40-15 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Cypress outscored the Hornets 37-29 after halftime but could not overcome the early deficit.

Brooks added seven rebounds in 36 minutes for Fullerton, which improved to 17-1. Brayden Smith added 16 points and six rebounds for the Hornets.

Michael Wright paced Cypress with 10 points and nine rebounds. The Chargers fell to 9-8 with the loss.
