Riverside vs Saddleback
Preview: Riverside Tigers at Saddleback Bobcats
MISSION VIEJO, Calif. (Interstat) — Two men’s junior college basketball teams seeking consistency will meet Wednesday when the Riverside City College Tigers visit the Saddleback College Bobcats in a California Community College Athletic Association matchup.
The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Saddleback College Gymnasium. General admission tickets are $10, with discounted $8 tickets available for children ages 6-12, seniors 60 and older, and military with ID. Parking is $5.
Riverside (8-7) enters after an 80-64 home loss to Fullerton on Jan. 9. The Tigers had won three of their previous four games prior to that defeat. Saddleback (9-7) looks to snap a two-game skid, most recently a narrow 67-65 home loss to Irvine Valley on Jan. 9.
A key matchup will feature two of the region’s top scorers. Riverside is led by guard Kollen Murphy, who is averaging over 20 points per game in his last four contests. He scored 21 points in the loss to Fullerton. Saddleback counters with forward Michael Bichel, who is coming off a 19-point, 8-rebound performance against Irvine Valley.
The Bobcats have shown resilience in close games this season, with three overtime victories in December. Riverside has relied on a balanced attack behind Murphy, with contributors like Jabari Harris and Kavon Ray providing support.
Both teams are navigating the early part of their conference schedules and will look to this contest to build momentum. The rematch is set for Feb. 6 at Riverside.
