Coalinga vs Fresno City

Struggling Teams Seek Turnaround in Central Valley Showdown

FRESNO, Calif. (Interstat) — Two men’s junior college basketball teams mired in difficult seasons will look to change their fortunes when the Fresno City Rams host the Coalinga Falcons on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, in a California Community College matchup.

Both programs enter on extended losing streaks. The visiting Falcons (2-13) have dropped eight consecutive games, most recently a 97-59 road loss to Sequoias on Wednesday. The Rams (5-10) have lost three straight, including a 107-65 home defeat to Columbia (Calif.) that same night.

A key matchup will feature each team’s top scoring threat. Coalinga guard Kristian Graham has been a consistent bright spot, scoring 21 points in each of his last two outings, including a 21-point, 5-rebound performance against Sequoias. Fresno City will counter with Christian English, who is coming off a 30-point, 6-rebound effort in a loss at Moorpark on Dec. 30.

Despite their records, the game is projected to be highly competitive. Interstat’s game simulator predicts a 100-100 final score, indicating a potential overtime thriller.

Coalinga’s struggles have been defined by offensive droughts, failing to reach 70 points in any of their last eight losses. Beyond Graham, support has come from Ryan Gomwalk (14 points vs. Sequoias) and Josiah Perez-Little, who leads the team on the boards.

Fresno City has shown flashes, with wins earlier this season over Hartnell and San Jose, but has been plagued by defensive lapses, allowing an average of 92 points during its current three-game skid.

Saturday’s contest opens a critical stretch of conference play for both squads as they seek to build momentum. For the Falcons, it represents a chance to snap a lengthy slide, while the Rams aim to defend their home court and rediscover their early-season form.

Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday at Fresno City College.
