Richard Bland vs Caldwell Tech
(Interstat) — Preview: Richard Bland Eagles at Caldwell Tech Cobras
FRIDAY, MARCH 6, 2026
The Caldwell Tech Cobras will look to protect their home court and solidify a winning season when they host the Richard Bland Eagles in a men’s junior college basketball matchup on Friday.
Caldwell Tech (10-9) enters the contest seeking to rebound from a 98-83 home loss to Gaston on Thursday. The Cobras have shown offensive firepower, scoring 100 or more points three times this season, including a 112-point outing against Cape Fear in January. Their season, however, has been marked by inconsistency.
The visiting Eagles (6-11) are riding a wave of momentum after a dramatic 65-64 overtime road victory at Cape Fear on Wednesday. That win snapped a two-game skid for Richard Bland.
A key storyline will be the rematch of a Jan. 23 meeting, which Richard Bland dominated 65-48 on its home floor. The Eagles will aim to complete the regular-season sweep.
Player to watch for Richard Bland is Andy Ramirez. The standout is coming off a monumental performance against Cape Fear, logging 45 minutes and posting 27 points and 14 rebounds in the overtime win. His frontcourt mate, Jermaine Coston Jr., also recorded a double-double with 15 points and 17 rebounds in that contest.
Caldwell Tech’s recent results have been a mixed bag, with a high-scoring 100-90 win over Brunswick on Feb. 28 followed by the defensive lapse against Gaston. The Cobras will need to contain Ramirez and control the boards to improve their record.
Despite the Eagles’ recent upset and prior head-to-head victory, Interstat’s ELO system projects Caldwell Tech as a strong favorite with a 78.80 percent probability to win.
Tipoff is scheduled for Friday night at Caldwell Tech’s home arena.
