Eastern Oklahoma State vs Seminole State (Okla.)

SEMINOLE, Okla. (Interstat) — The Seminole State (Okla.) Trojans will look to complete a regular-season sweep and solidify their standing when they host the Eastern Oklahoma State Mountaineers in a men’s junior college basketball game on Thursday.

The Trojans (14-8) enter with a clear advantage in the standings and won the first meeting 84-76 at Eastern Oklahoma State on Feb. 2. They aim to rebound from a 76-66 road loss to Connors State on Monday.

Eastern Oklahoma State (8-11) arrives with momentum from a dramatic 102-98 double-overtime road victory at Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa on Monday. The Mountaineers’ offense runs through guard Roy Henderson III, who was spectacular in that win, pouring in 31 points to go with six rebounds and six assists.

Henderson will need another high-level performance against a Seminole State team that has been strong at home. The Trojans have won four of their last five at home, including a 76-69 victory over Redlands on Feb. 26.

Beyond Henderson, the Mountaineers have found balance recently. In the double-overtime win, Thai Bond added 21 points and seven rebounds, while Devin Brown posted a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Seminole State’s defense, which allowed 89 points in a loss to Northern Oklahoma-Enid on Feb. 23 but held three of its last five opponents under 76 points, will be tested by Eastern Oklahoma’s up-tempo attack.

The Mountaineers have struggled with consistency, alternating wins and losses in their last six games. A road win against the Trojans would be their most significant victory in weeks and could provide a late-season surge.

Tipoff is set for Thursday night at Seminole State.
