BIG SPRING, Texas (Interstat) — The Howard College Hawks defeated the Midland Chaparrals 101-86 in a men’s junior college basketball game Thursday night. Terry Copeland powered the Hawks with 40 points and 13 rebounds. The Hawks improved to 24-5 overall, while Midland fell to 23-5.

Howard never trailed after a fast-paced first quarter, leading 40-30. The Hawks maintained a double-digit advantage throughout the second half. Darius Carr led Midland with 22 points, and Yeison Liberato added 15 points and 10 rebounds. Brandon Ivery and Dace Pleasant each scored 16 points for Howard.

The Hawks swept the regular-season series, having also won at Midland on Feb. 2.
