Central Georgia vs Albany Tech
ALBANY, Ga. (Interstat) — A pair of Titans will clash Wednesday night when the Central Georgia Titans visit the Albany Tech Titans in a men’s junior college basketball matchup.
Central Georgia (13-7) enters on a hot streak, having won six of its last seven games. The visiting Titans are coming off a 91-78 home victory over Southern Crescent on Saturday, powered by 20 points and five assists from guard Roosevelt Brown.
Brown has been the engine for Central Georgia’s surge. Over his last eight games, the standout guard is averaging 18.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists per contest, showcasing a versatile and consistent all-around game.
Albany Tech (8-14) looks to halt a four-game skid, most recently a lopsided 89-57 road loss to South Georgia Tech on Saturday. The home Titans have struggled to find consistency, with their last win coming on Feb. 11.
The teams met earlier this season on Jan. 28 in Central Georgia, with the hosts securing a 70-65 victory. Albany Tech will aim to defend its home court and split the season series.
For Albany Tech, guard Nicholas Durham will look to make a greater impact after playing just one minute in the team’s last outing. His backcourt matchup with Brown will be a focal point.
Central Georgia’s recent success has been bolstered by contributions beyond Brown. In the last win, Kaziaes Hemphill added 12 points and nine rebounds, while Lemar Edmond chipped in 12 points, three assists and two blocks.
Albany Tech’s most recent win was a 90-83 victory over Southern Crescent on Feb. 14, demonstrating an offensive capability it will need to rediscover against a confident Central Georgia squad.
Wednesday’s game tips off at 7:30 p.m. at Albany Tech’s gymnasium. Central Georgia’s next scheduled game is at East Georgia State on Saturday, March 7.
