Cowboys Ride Da Cruz’s Dominant Rebounding to Avenge Earlier Loss to Trojans

WARNER, Okla. (Interstat) — Connors State avenged a January loss by defeating Seminole State (Okla.) 76-66 in a men’s junior college basketball game Monday night. The Cowboys improved to 11-7, while the Trojans fell to 14-8.

Peter Da Cruz powered Connors State with a dominant performance, scoring 10 points and grabbing 18 rebounds. Kevin Stubblefield Jr. added 14 points and five assists. The Cowboys built a 40-35 halftime lead and maintained control throughout the second half.

Seminole State, which had won the previous meeting 85-74 on Jan. 29, could not overcome Connors State’s interior presence. The Cowboys’ defense held the Trojans well below the 100-point total projected by a national statistical simulator before the game.
