Moberly Area vs State Fair
Preview: Moberly Area Greyhounds at State Fair Roadrunners
SEDALIA, Mo. (Interstat) — A tightly contested junior college men’s basketball series will add another chapter Wednesday when the Moberly Area Greyhounds visit the State Fair Roadrunners.
The Greyhounds (17-4), riding a strong season, will look to complete a regular-season sweep after defeating the Roadrunners 72-67 on Feb. 4. In that game, State Fair’s Jai’Kori Phillps contributed 7 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks in 26 minutes.
However, State Fair (9-12) has proven it can challenge Moberly Area, having won 83-80 in overtime in the teams’ first meeting on Jan. 14 in Moberly. The split season series adds intrigue to this third matchup.
Moberly Area enters on a two-game winning streak, most recently edging Southeastern 71-68 on the road Saturday. Their only loss in the past five games came against Three Rivers on Feb. 11.
State Fair has shown recent improvement, winning two of its last three contests. The Roadrunners are coming off a 64-56 road victory at Missouri State-West Plains on Saturday. They also earned a notable 74-72 win over Three Rivers on Feb. 14.
Phillps will be a key player to watch for the home team. Beyond his performance against Moberly Area earlier this month, he helped State Fair to a win over Mineral Area on Feb. 11.
The game is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center. Following this contest, Moberly Area’s next scheduled game is at home against Mineral Area on Saturday, Feb. 28.
