Baton Rouge vs Delgado
Preview: Baton Rouge Bears at Delgado Dolphins
BATON ROUGE, La. (Interstat) — The Baton Rouge Bears and Delgado Dolphins will meet for the third time this season in a men’s junior college basketball game Wednesday night, with the home team seeking to even the season series.
The Dolphins (6-11) will host the Bears (3-16) at Delgado’s home court. The teams have split their two previous meetings in February, each winning decisively on their home floor. Delgado claimed a 70-50 victory on Feb. 4, while Baton Rouge answered with an 86-70 win on Feb. 14.
Baton Rouge enters on a five-game losing streak, including a narrow 67-65 home loss to Southern-Shreveport on Feb. 18. Delgado snapped a two-game skid with a 68-52 road win at Southern-Shreveport on Feb. 21.
A key player to watch for the Bears is Kentrell Freeman. The guard-forward was instrumental in Baton Rouge’s win over Delgado earlier this month, scoring 14 points with seven rebounds in 31 minutes. In the Feb. 4 loss at Delgado, he posted 12 points, eight rebounds and a block.
For the Dolphins, forward Clayton Blackledge will be a focal point. In Delgado’s Feb. 4 win over Baton Rouge, he contributed six rebounds and three blocks in 30 minutes. He logged 26 minutes in the team’s most recent victory.
Both teams have struggled for consistency this season. Baton Rouge’s three wins include the Feb. 14 triumph over Delgado and a non-conference victory over Community Christian in December. Delgado’s victories have been sporadic, with their last win prior to Feb. 21 coming against these same Bears.
The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tipoff on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, at Delgado’s home facility.
Delgado’s next game is at Southern-Shreveport on Saturday, Feb. 28.
