Lamar State-Port Arthur vs Bossier Parish

Preview: Lamar State-Port Arthur Seahawks at Bossier Parish Cavaliers

BOSSIER CITY, La. (Interstat) — Two men’s junior college basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Wednesday when the Lamar State-Port Arthur Seahawks visit the Bossier Parish Cavaliers.

Both squads enter the 2026 regular-season contest with struggling records. The visiting Seahawks are 6-14, while the home Cavaliers sit at 4-16. Their last meeting, however, produced a high-scoring affair, with Lamar State-Port Arthur securing a 90-81 home victory over Bossier Parish on Jan. 10.

The Seahawks are led by guard Christian Andrews, who is coming off a strong 40-minute performance in a 73-62 loss to Kilgore on Feb. 21, where he scored 19 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished three assists. Andrews has been a consistent offensive threat, scoring 16 or more points in four of his last seven outings.

For Bossier Parish, forward Zequan Lewis will be a key figure. Lewis has shown scoring bursts, including a 20-point game in a win over Coastal Bend on Feb. 7 and another 20-point effort against Navarro on Jan. 31. His production has been variable, but he provides a critical interior presence for the Cavaliers.

Both teams are looking to rebound from lopsided losses in their most recent games. Lamar State-Port Arthur fell to Kilgore on Saturday, despite 20 points from Zion Young and 16 from Martins Adonry alongside Andrews’ effort. Bossier Parish suffered a difficult 62-33 road loss at Angelina on the same day, where Lewis led the team with 11 points.

The matchup presents a prime opportunity for either team to build confidence late in the season. The Seahawks will aim to sweep the season series, while the Cavaliers will look to defend their home court and avenge January’s defeat.

Following this game, Lamar State-Port Arthur travels to face Navarro on Saturday. Bossier Parish remains at home to host Blinn on Saturday.
