MINERAL AREA, Mo. (Interstat) — The Mineral Area Cardinals defeated the Missouri State-West Plains Grizzlies 75-58 in a men’s junior college basketball game Wednesday.

Mineral Area established a commanding lead with a 46-point first half, entering the break ahead by 17 points. The Cardinals’ defense then stifled the Grizzlies after halftime, holding them to just 31 second-half points to secure the victory.

The win improves Mineral Area’s season record to 17-9. Missouri State-West Plains falls to 3-17 with the loss. The Cardinals have now won all three meetings between the teams this season.

Mineral Area was led by key performances from Nazir Allen, Terron Garrett and Nassir Binion. The Cardinals are scheduled to play at Moberly Area on Saturday.
