East Georgia State vs Gordon State

Preview: East Georgia State Bobcats at Gordon State Highlanders

BARNESVILLE, Ga. (Interstat) — The East Georgia State Bobcats and Gordon State Highlanders will meet for the second time this season on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, in a men’s junior college basketball matchup at Gordon State.

The Highlanders (7-13) edged the Bobcats (9-16) 78-77 in their previous meeting on Jan. 21. Gordon State has lost three of its last four games, most recently falling 84-61 at Central Georgia on Feb. 21. Donovan Hand led the Highlanders in that loss, scoring 24 points and grabbing five rebounds in 35 minutes. Hand has been a consistent performer, recording a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds in a loss to South Georgia State on Feb. 14.

East Georgia State enters with momentum from a 78-67 home victory over Albany Tech on Feb. 18. The Bobcats have won two of their last three contests. Forward Chibueze Irojanma dominated in the win over Albany Tech, posting 19 points and 12 rebounds. He has been a key player for the Bobcats throughout February.

Both teams have struggled defensively at times this season, which could lead to a high-scoring affair. A statistical projection from Interstat forecasts a 100-100 draw, suggesting a tightly contested offensive battle.

The game will be a crucial late-season contest for both programs as they look to improve their records ahead of their respective conference tournaments. Following this game, East Georgia State will host Andrew on Feb. 28, while Gordon State travels to face Andrew on March 4.

Tip-off is scheduled for Wednesday night at Gordon State College.
