Olney Central vs Vincennes

VINCENNES, Ind. (Interstat) — A stark contrast in fortunes will be on display Wednesday night when the surging Vincennes Trailblazers host the struggling Olney Central Blue Knights in a men’s junior college basketball matchup.

The Trailblazers (21-2), one of the nation’s elite teams, aim to rebound from a rare stumble, an 86-74 road loss to Kaskaskia on Saturday that snapped a five-game win streak. They will be heavily favored against an Olney Central squad that is 3-14 and has lost nine of its last ten games, including a 72-60 home defeat to Wabash Valley in its last outing.

Vincennes, which routed Olney Central 82-57 just over a month ago on Jan. 21, is led by standout Drae Vasser. The guard has been on a tear, averaging 23.6 points over his last five games, including a 30-point, 12-rebound performance in a win over Lake Land on Feb. 18.

Olney Central’s primary threat is Gabe Johnson, who is coming off a spectacular 25-point, 10-redouble-double in a narrow overtime loss to Southwestern Illinois on Feb. 10. Containing Johnson will be a key focus for a stout Vincennes defense.

Despite the lopsided records and recent history, Interstat’s game simulator projects a highly unusual 100-100 tie, suggesting potential for an offensive shootout. However, Vincennes has dominated this series and has not lost consecutive games all season.

The Trailblazers will look to reassert their dominance before a tough road test at Wabash Valley on Saturday. Olney Central, seeking a monumental upset, hosts Southwestern Illinois on Feb. 28.

Tip-off is set for Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, at the Vincennes University Physical Education Complex.
