State Fair vs Missouri State-West Plains

WEST PLAINS, Mo. (Interstat) — Two men’s junior college basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Saturday when the State Fair Roadrunners visit the Missouri State-West Plains Grizzlies.

The Roadrunners (8-12) enter having won two of their last three, including a 74-72 victory over Three Rivers on Feb. 14. The Grizzlies (3-15) look to snap a five-game losing streak, most recently an 88-77 defeat at Moberly Area on Feb. 14.

This is the third meeting this season between the Region 16 rivals. State Fair won both prior matchups, 103-86 at home on Jan. 17 and 81-76 here on Jan. 31.

A key player to watch for the Roadrunners is Jai’Kori Phillps. The guard contributed 7 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks in 26 minutes in a Feb. 4 loss to Moberly Area.

The Grizzlies will rely on forward Javon Barbee, who has been a consistent performer. In the Jan. 31 loss to State Fair, Barbee recorded a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. He followed that with 16 points and 5 rebounds at Mineral Area on Feb. 4 and 11 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists in the most recent outing.

State Fair’s recent form shows improvement, having split its last four games. Missouri State-West Plains has struggled, with its last win coming on Dec. 7, 2025.

Despite the records, Interstat’s game simulator projects a high-scoring 100-100 draw, suggesting a potentially tight contest. The Grizzlies will aim to leverage their home court to secure a first win over State Fair this season and reverse their recent fortunes.

Following this game, State Fair will host Moberly Area on Feb. 25. Missouri State-West Plains travels to Mineral Area on Feb. 25 before hosting Three Rivers on Feb. 28.

Tipoff is set for Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, at the West Plains Civic Center.
